International Friends!

Hey all!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far…

Since starting Fluffyghost one of my all time favourite things I have enjoyed the most via this website is the connections I have made with people who share the same passion as me for kawaii around the world.

It helps open your eyes to culture, friendship and of course more kawaii that you might not have been able to locate or have known.

I’ve been lucky to share swapping experiences with these lovely ladies and be included in the care package network (as I like to think of it).  You just can’t beat coming home to a super cute parcel when you’ve had a rather crappy day, as it really goes to show that someone on the other side of the world really does give a damn about your well-being… and that feeling just cannot be beaten!

So here is a what I was blessed to receive this year for Christmas from the most awesome ladies ever:

I am truly grateful to have such awesome international friends. Getting to know you all, exchanging parcels and just the kawaii community in general always brightens up my day.
I hope to one day meet you all in the flesh.

I would just like to add also that there are a few more parcels that should have been included in this post but I just can’t seem to locate the photos on my computer. But you lovely ladies know who you are and how thankful to your friendship I am.

Well thats enough of me being gushy on the internet for one day haha!
Im off to see Les Mis in the cinema.

Take care,

Jeremy Scott-Inspired DIY Winged Sneakers!

Hey all!

Time certainly can feel like an illusion sometimes…Can’t believe it’s almost been a month since my last post. Oh dear!

It’s good to announce that I am not dead, and that I shall do my best to post more often.

So to make it up to you awesome people, I have a week stuffed full of kawaii. From projects, must haves and a fantastic interview with Amy from Cakes With Faces.

I’ve just recently found Kawaii D.I.Y and have madly fallen in love with this kawaii  lady’s projects. I love D.I.Y’s but the problem I tend to find is that most can be quite expensive gathering the materials. Unless you’re a craft supplies hoard like moi. (But then again even I tend to be an item sort here and there.) But look no further as cute doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg anymore:

These are seriously adorable! An easy make that you can create with your favourite pumps in less than an hour: Just costing you under a £5 for supplies.

I love projects that I can finish in a day and this is perfect for an instant wardrobe update, or even to make a craft date with a friend of yours.

If anyone takes part in this awesome project then please send your photos to fluffyghost@hotmail.co.uk I would love to see all your finished creations and designs.

Take care and I’ll see you all bright and early tomorrow!

The Most Adorable Swaps! Part 1.

Hey!

The Summer is always a busy season, so when things get a little “ahhh.” its great to get those pick me ups. Kawaii of course!

So here are two amazing swaps I’ve recently got through the post.

This incredible swap is from Michelle from Flickr. I’ve never had so many of my wish list items come true at once. I was ecstatic!

The Hello Kitty ghost line is one of my favourite lines by Hello Kitty. But so hard to track any down here in the UK. To get so much from the TuxedoSam goodies, some of my favourite anime plush, kawaii cats and to top it all off some amazing handmade stamps. I was made!

This is the second half of Michelle’s swap to me. (It started out as one giant swap but got cut into two sendable swaps haha.) Craft heaven! So many stunning moulds and clay. I’ve not been able to put it down! The Rilakkuma moulds are being used as ice cube trays: Im going to make some chocolates with them too. I also love the Sugar Bunny bag and Hello Kitty socks.

Everything was just perfect and very me.

I can’t currently show what I’ve sent her as she doesn’t know yet and I didn’t take a full photo of everything to date together.

So i’ll ask if I can borrow her photo when she takes it.

Be back tomorrow with part two of this post!

Take care,

The Art Of Decoden!

Hey!

A few days ago I finally had a go at the extremely kawaii art of decoden. Decoden originates from Japan,  the term “deco” is intuitively short for decorated and “den” is short for “denwa” meaning “phone” in Japanese. But decoden doesn’t stop at phones, it’s taking over every type of electronic and flat surface beauty product you can think of!

You tend to find decoden amongst the Lolita girls & of course Harajuku; the supplies normally used tends to be, faux icing, baked clay goodies, flat back charms, anything that glitters and of course a million rhinestones etc…

So heres my first attempt of decoden on some glass jars:

The two smaller jars are known as decoden… I got the Hello Kitty & Rilakkuma clay goods from a recent swap, I made the ice cream scoops, heart & doughnut kitty from fuwa fuwa clay. (Known as paper clay as it dries over night on its own.) I also used some kawaii flat back charms (Caps.) I had on hand, beads, buttons & faux pearls. I used the fuwa fuwa clay to create the faux icing & pushed some through a piping gun tip to create the different texture and levels.

As for the larger jar (Which is not really decoden.) I wanted to explore what I could make on the spot with the fuwa fuwa clay…So I went with a lolita pastel theme and created a multi layered flower encrusted with a few flat back faux pearls.

Over all I would say I’m pretty happy with my first attempt at decoden and using fuwa fuwa clay of course. I still need to master the faux icing technique but I’ll get there in the end. Those decoden girls sure make it look easy haha!

I personally think it’s going to take me a lot of practice before I even dream of approaching any of my electronics but until that day I’ve got tons of tupperware and jars I can vandalise hah.

Take care,

Kawaii Friends!♥

Afternoon all!

FluffyGhost has been going for some time now and one of the best experiences I could  possibly experienced so far is being accepted into the kawaii community with such a warm embrace

From meeting so many awesome people across the world who I have so much in common with is just fantastic.

But there comes a time when you meet someone extra special that I wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for all of this.

She goes by the Name Ella Kitty and she is my kawaii sister  & equivalent: To find she was UK-based was just so awesome!

Anyway this is how you know you’ve been spoilt when a talented up & coming artist spoils you with stunning artwork of yourself.

It can’t get much better then this surely:

It might not be “Picasso standards” yet… But the time, the effort and love that went into creating this piece exceeds all off the above. You seriously cannot beat personal artwork, the feeling of instant astonishment & excitement you receive from a friend going out their way to create something special is unbeatable! Plus bubble bunnies what’s not to love!

I adore this piece so much!

I always wanted to know what I would look like Chibi style, and thanks to Ella Kitty my curiosity has been quenched. Obviously I would be a nekomusume girl I mean duh it would be crazy if I wasn’t.

I want to thank Ella Kitty so much for going out of her way to create these little gems for me: For spending your personal time and talent to draw me haha. These are going on my wall, frame worthy in my eyes.  Your work will never go unappreciated here!

Have you ever had a friend or artist draw yourself?Or possibly even both?

I would love to hear about all of your experiences!

Take care all,

Japanese Craft Items!

Hey,

Just quickly popping in with an awesome package I recently got through the post from Modes4u.

I’ve been dying to try this Japanese fuwa fuwa paper clay out. I’ve seen the most cutest of creations and I just had to give it ago. I also purchased some white fuwa fuwa mouse clay (Whipped Cream.) as you can mix in the other clays for different colours. You know start off with the basics, I don’t want to dive in head first and botch my first attempt.

For decoration I picked up some glitter vanish, some sprinkle & flat back pearl embellishments for that extra kawaii touch!

I’m really excited to finally be able to give this a go… Fingers crossed it goes well. I’ve always wanted to make my own charms and decorate just about anything and everything with a flat surface haha.

Well I’ll keep you all posted on how its goes, for better or for worse of course!

If your interested in picking up the craft items shown above then your find them here.

Have a great day,

Popin Cooking!

Hey all!

So today I took a brave step into the kawaii candy craft world of Japanese Popin Cooking kits.

I must admit after watching tons of YouTube videos on people masterfully creating these delicate sweet pieces, that I’ve come to a point where I believe this is a form of art in a way…

Why is making Popin Cooking candy a form of art?

Well lets look at my first ever amateur attempt and were see why haha:

Well there we have it! A lump of goo that looks rather sorry for itself.

You’ve seen it here first people, I suck at Popin Cooking… I think a lot of practice is in store for me, if I ever want to create beautiful treats that is.

I must admit though the flavours were very artificial (Even for candy I know!) that I really wasn’t going to consider putting that in my mouth. Was pretty diasgusting to be honest. Or maybe thats just mine haha?

Has anyone else tried a Popin Cooking kit? I would love to hear from you all!

Well take care, Im off to sew some Totoro’s.
