Ink With A Touch Of Lolita!

Hey all!

Recently an awesome reader recommended me to a very talented artist…

I’m normally quite brutal when it comes to my taste in art but I was pleasantly surprised to find something more unique than the mainstream junk that’s normally poured down our throat these days.

The artist name is Sharayah Honeyager who combines pen, ink & watercolour as if they were naturally made for one another.

Heres some of my personal favourites:

1.

(On the Up and Up print Via: Sharayahhoney.)

I find this piece very inspiring, I love all the different textures & how they work so beautifully with the colour palette. It has a hint of lolita fashion which I adore but with a twist of the Edwardian era combined with some fairy tale presence. Overall creating a very majestic piece of art!

2.

(They Just Never Seem To Last image via: Sharayahhoney.)

This piece is equally stunning. (I’m always a sucker for huge anime styled eyes too!) I love the rugged texture of the shading via the pen. It portrays the wear & tear of life which to me is quite refreshing. I feel the artist has captured that child like innocence profoundly. But I wouldn’t say that makes this a depressing piece filled with pain and grief but more with a dark humour to it: Especially in the pieces title. I mean who hasn’t gone through a million gold fishes when they were children? It’s one of the best ways to learn about death as a child & I feel the artist has really brought that moment to life. Great piece indeed.

Sharayah Honeyager also specialises in paintings & sculptures… (Coming soon to her website.)

So be sure to check out the rest of Sharayah Honeyager work here.

On another note I was presented with a blog award which I am very grateful towards so thank you Omg Toasties for the blog love.

Here are the rules:

& 5 random facts about me mmmmm…

1. I hate peanut butter blarghh!

2. Apparently the word cute comes in my top 5 vocabulary list haha.

3. I have given up smoking for over 12 weeks now which makes me officially a none smoker!  (I smoked for about 7 years shhhhh.)

4. I’m a crazy cat lady I adore cats so much. Especially cats in clothes!

5.  I’m a huge gaming nerd too. I’ve not missed a handheld device since the gameboy colour & I still have them all to this day. (I used to borrow my friends original gameboy.)

So there we have it! A little more about myself… ^__<

Take care all!

October

Hi all!

Gosh can’t believe it’s October already! October is going to be one of the most productive months this year for me. With my up and coming craft fair on the 30th, Mr H’s and I 3rd anniversary and of course Halloween!

Although in my head I’m already planning for Christmas haha!

I’m getting really excited about my first ever craft fair. I can’t wait to meet the buyers who purchase my stuff, it shall be a great learning experience as well as interesting. Fluffyghost is also sponsoring this event and has done some of the design work. So here’s a flyer I made for the event:

(It’s a lot more readable in person, just doesn’t do much justice for it on here.)

I’m starting to get a mixture of emotions, from excitement to anxiety… I just get so nervous that no one wants my stuff haha… Well were find out!

So im off to make, then make some more. Till my fingers can sew no more!

Have a great day.

A Work In Progress…

Hi all!

Lately I’ve been working on some new T-shirt designs to take to market to my first craft fair (& eventually online.) so here’s my first design:

It still needs a bit more work done to it, with the shading and that. I’m also not sure whether to have the speech bubble in, as I wanted this design to be unisex: So with the bubble it makes it a little bit to feminine?

Mmmmm still loads to think about…

Have a great weekend!

Busy weekend.

Hi!

So this weekend I’ve been crafting like mad, with my fellow friend who will be working the craft fair with me.

What did I make?

Well a little of this and that… Ok here’s a little sneak peak into some of my art:

A small family of purple Fluffyghosts as well as a canvas painting of “bubble people”

&…

A creepy cute melting man…Maybe I’ve been watching too much live, Pink Floyd?… Owell haha. As well as a kawaii Jellyfish. Really happy with the way it turned out. I might need to make him a little family too.

So what do you think?

Be kind! ^___<

Be back tomorrow,

SwapBot Parcel.

Afternoon!

I’ve been part of SwapBot for quite some, and in awe of the Flickr groups for years. I’ve met some awesome people through it and learnt a lot about certain types of swaps. ^___^

So I was only naturally delighted when I saw on the SwapBot blog that the founder of SwapBot Rachel Johnson was running a marathon with her husband and team; to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help cure cancer. To help raise money she is giving away SwapBot postcards sets to anybody who donates $10 or more to her teams fundraising page here.

So of course I did, being for a worthy cause & all:

Super happy, I just love SwapBots logo…It’s just so damn kawaii!

From tons of snazzy postcards, to stickers, badges and a cute little magnet.

An awesome bundle in itself for sure. A must have  for any SwapBot lover and most importantly for a great cause of course!

You can donate $10 or more here for your SwapBot parcel.

For more information seek original post here.

Have a great day!

Black Butler!

Hi all!

Yesterday, I brought Black Butler books 1-5 and since then I haven’t been able to put them down, so I thought I should share my thoughts…

Sebastian is the butler to the PhantomHive family serving the head of the family Ciel a 12-year-old boy. Sebastian character is hauntingly charming and elegant. From cooking, cleaning to killing he manages the whole PhantomHive Manor and protects his master Ciel.

But only later, do we find out that there is a much deeper connection between Ciel and Sebastian. Now I don’t want to give too much away and waffle on, as I hate being the spoiler.

Anyway…

Black Butler is set in the Victorian era, in Great Britain as are all the characters British. Being British myself I find this manga to be refreshing. The depictions of the cliché British person, was not to bad either. Yana Toboso has clearly done some research on Great British history. You even get to solve the case of Jack The Ripper, which was all taken in great stride…Oh and there is plenty of tea breaks too, which one always needs hahaha!

Sebastian & Master PhantomHive. Via: Phantasma.

I think what lured me into buying these books initially was the artwork. As before yesterday I had no idea what or that Black Butler even existed…Well Im so glad I took the gamble as the more I read the more I love it! The eeriness to the illustrations and the stunning detail on all the clothing is just done with such beauty!

I just found out to, that they’ve released Black Butler in Anime! Although I do strongly recommend the books first, here’s a quick glimpse of Black Butler:

A very sinister, dark yet stuffed with humour; definitely worth a go!

If anyone has read, or currently reading it, I would love to hear your thoughts on this!

See ya,

Lolita Inspiration!

Hey,

Just popping in today with some Lolita fashion I find inspirational:

I’ve always found Lolita to be a style of fantasy and inspiration and in it self a piece of art.

From all the miniature details and kawaii embellishments, Lolita girls are truly the modern-day perfectionists of this world!

Be back tomorrow,
