International Friends!

Hey all!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far…

Since starting Fluffyghost one of my all time favourite things I have enjoyed the most via this website is the connections I have made with people who share the same passion as me for kawaii around the world.

It helps open your eyes to culture, friendship and of course more kawaii that you might not have been able to locate or have known.

I’ve been lucky to share swapping experiences with these lovely ladies and be included in the care package network (as I like to think of it).  You just can’t beat coming home to a super cute parcel when you’ve had a rather crappy day, as it really goes to show that someone on the other side of the world really does give a damn about your well-being… and that feeling just cannot be beaten!

So here is a what I was blessed to receive this year for Christmas from the most awesome ladies ever:

I am truly grateful to have such awesome international friends. Getting to know you all, exchanging parcels and just the kawaii community in general always brightens up my day.
I hope to one day meet you all in the flesh.

I would just like to add also that there are a few more parcels that should have been included in this post but I just can’t seem to locate the photos on my computer. But you lovely ladies know who you are and how thankful to your friendship I am.

Well thats enough of me being gushy on the internet for one day haha!
Im off to see Les Mis in the cinema.

Take care,

Happy 2013!

Happy 2013 everyone! May you have a very prosperous new year in all your future adventures.

I’ve been thinking about what I would like to do for some of my new year resolutions… One of them being that I would like to get back into being a serious blogger once more. As I have settled into my new life style I believe that I can handle running Fluffyghost with ease. But this time more for pleasure and hobby then a chore.

That means lots of personal posts again, as I have tons of photos just waiting to be upload here!

So Christmas was fantastic, lots of friends, family and of course kawaii. Heres a sneak peak of a few of my decorations and lovely gifts I was lucky to receive:

San-x, Sanrio, anime, games, Lolita and a traditional Japanese leather school bag make me a very happy bunny indeed! I’ve been eyeing up that bag like a perv for  such a long time too & now it is mine muahahaha! >:D

It was  also great to be able to enjoy all the festive activities on the run up to Christmas too with the people I love.

Anway hoo’s Happy New Year everyone! Lets welcome it all in together.

Kuma Crafts!

How I love thee!

I have been quite a big fan of Kuma Crafts for some time now. I can remember when they first started out with a handful of original designs… Which instantly got me hooked of course & I can be quite picky when it comes to kawaii jewellery.

I must admit I haven’t been this impressed with an Etsy store in a long time. Each time I pop by I am always delighted to see new and even cuter designs. My purse is sure paying for it.

Heres my most recent/naughty splurge:

I love the Nyan cone design so much! I am the ultimate sucker for a kawaii cat design, Nyan Nyan Nyanko or Maneki Neko…So when I saw this design I just had to have instantly!

I am dead impressed with the T-shirt, it’s dead comfy, good quality and the necklace is to die for. I adore all the detail and love that has gone into this acrylic pendant. Definitely worth the price for the workmanship gone into it! I was also touched by the kawaii cat phone charm freebie in my order. Dead lovely and really finished up my order to a “T”.

I thought I should share all of my Kuma Crafts necklace collection as its starting to grow to a decent size:

The first ever Kuma Crafts necklace I ordered was the lilac cat pendant. It has lasted the test of time and I still love it to this day. The second necklace was by chance/luck as I had just recently at the time liked the Kuma Crafts Facebook page…Turned out by doing so I had entered into a giveaway I wasn’t aware of and won!!! I was so gobsmacked and overjoyed to had discovered my pure luck! So I got to choose the gold glittery tiger necklace. (Which sadly broke due me being clumsy, only the loop was damaged so I plan on turning it into a brooch soon as its far to kawaii to be wasted.)

I then went crazy and purchased the Sailor Moon necklaces as I grew up watching this as many of us has and been a life long fan since. I really love her take on the designs there just perfect as well as being affordable as a lot of Sailor Moon merchandise is quite expensive…Especially if it is vintage.

I then received the bunny necklace recently as a gift from my awesome kawaii sister Ella Kitty. She had won it in the Super Cute Kawaii giveaway and well I just adore her so much for thinking of me. (I’m currently wearing this one now!)

Which takes us up to date to my Nyan cone order. Hurray!!

I love each and every part of my Kuma Crafts collection, from the necklaces, top & phone charm. I shall be back in the future that for sure is guaranteed.

Here’s what I currently have my eye on:

I need this Maneki Neko T-shirts so badly! Either the one in blue or pink or possibly both! I loved her necklace design of it too, although she does not have any more in her store I shall be keeping my eye open for that if its restocked.

Om Nom Nom Kitty Necklace via: Kuma Crafts Etsy.

I need this cutie pie too! It’s just so damn adorable!

As you can see I am by far a Kuma Crafts Junkie! I really do just love that store so much. I could list all my desires but we would be here all day. So I shall leave this post at that.

Do stop by her store and say hi as Kuma Crafts really is just that awesome!

Take care,

Birthday Goodness!

Hey all!

On Saturday I turned 20, no longer a teenager! Gosh…

Doesn’t feel any different though I must admit.

I had a really awesome lazy day. Going out to eat, playing my games, having my partner be my butler for a day haaha. Was pretty damn good doing nothing. As I couldn’t be bothered to have the pressure to have to do something. Plus this is the 4th year it has rained on my birthday! This being the first it hasn’t mattered!

Soo yay!

*Be warned this post is going to be very photo heavy!*

I was truly spoilt! I want to thank family and friends for making my day so special and for all of you’re stunning gifts you gave me & for those to come also!

It’s days like this when you can’t help but know your loved and by whom.

Wouldn’t trade that serenity for all the money in the world.

Well there we have it! I’m getting old!! :O

Haha, well take care see you all soon!

The Most Adorable Swaps! Part 1.

Hey!

The Summer is always a busy season, so when things get a little “ahhh.” its great to get those pick me ups. Kawaii of course!

So here are two amazing swaps I’ve recently got through the post.

This incredible swap is from Michelle from Flickr. I’ve never had so many of my wish list items come true at once. I was ecstatic!

The Hello Kitty ghost line is one of my favourite lines by Hello Kitty. But so hard to track any down here in the UK. To get so much from the TuxedoSam goodies, some of my favourite anime plush, kawaii cats and to top it all off some amazing handmade stamps. I was made!

This is the second half of Michelle’s swap to me. (It started out as one giant swap but got cut into two sendable swaps haha.) Craft heaven! So many stunning moulds and clay. I’ve not been able to put it down! The Rilakkuma moulds are being used as ice cube trays: Im going to make some chocolates with them too. I also love the Sugar Bunny bag and Hello Kitty socks.

Everything was just perfect and very me.

I can’t currently show what I’ve sent her as she doesn’t know yet and I didn’t take a full photo of everything to date together.

So i’ll ask if I can borrow her photo when she takes it.

Be back tomorrow with part two of this post!

Take care,

Nyan Nyan Nyankos!

Hey all!

Nyan nyan nyankos are super adorable white kittens who hide themselves among food, toys & house hold wares. They from the San-X brand but have been a retired character for some time now.

I’ve always had a huge soft spot for these kawaii kitties since I could remember. As there retired it means their merchandise is harder to locate & more expensive as they become rarer. (Thats if you even manage to find them in mint of course.) But in a way that only makes me more determined to own them all & definitely appreciate each individual item with the most love, respect & care that comes into my possession.

So heres some collections I’ve been drooling over:

2: Kids Toys Online.

3: Flickriver.

So heres my personal collection:

It’s still a pretty modest collection but I adore each & every Nyan nyan nyanko item I own. I couldn’t have gained this collection without my lovely kawaii friends and swap partners. A big thank you to Carmie who sent me the burger, sundae plush & keyring. I shall love them till I die.

So there we have it. If you own any Nyan nyan nyankos then your super lucky! If you do & there not really your’e thing, then well you can always send them my way of course!

Take care!

Parcels, parcels & more parcels!

Hey!

As you know I’m a huge fan of the kawaii swap! Theres just something about receiving a bundle of super cute items they you just can’t beat!

Oh and being able to use all the kawaii deco tape & stickers whilst wrapping. I tend to go a bit overboard haha…It’s an illness?

So as I’m playing catch up this shall be a very photo heavy post. You were all warned hah!

Above: Cupcake storage tin, fuwa fuwa paper clay, cupcake hooks x 2, cupcake lip gloss, chocolate bar mirror & comb set, moustache tin and finally some cupcake pegs.

This is a swap I have currently going on with Rute from Flickr. This photo is known as a preview so she could confirm she likes everything first before sending. Since then I have added a few more items including some badges and a necklace. I’m sure she’ll upload a photo of the swap on Flickr so check back here later when she receives it.

Here is Rutes preview for me. Im so excited I really cannot wait to get this parcel. Everything looks amazing. Rute’s handmade’s are always such a treat! Im in love with the handmade Totoro hannari tofu styled cube. So so so kawaii!

So this has turned out to be a really fun swap. Definitely a kawaii score!

Here are some other swaps and parcels I’ve recently sent:

A swap I sent to Sushibear on Flickr. The swap consisted of her Strapya World wish list and some items from Harrods. So happy I could get everything she wanted. Here we have; Mt Fuji plush, Rilakkuma iPhone 4 case, Kapibarasan iPhone 4 case, bunny plug-in charm, macaroon squishy charm, Disney button stickers. From Harrods; dog plush, A5 notebook, Scottish Terrier leather key ring and a pet tote bag.

Sushibear parcel all wrapped up and sent. I like to take pictures of the parcels I send to confirm my sending date. (I only upload them onto my Flickr the day I’ve sent it, to let my swap partner know it’s on its way to them.) Also as I always decorate them.

Finally a parcel I sent to my kawaii sister EllaKitty… Just because she’s awesome!

A Tare panda alarm clock, Hello Kitty biscuit plush purse, (I brought two and had to share so we had matching ones!) Rilakkuma small deco tape, Hello Kitty pencils & stickers.

I also wanted to spoil her as I love her millions so I got her one of her wish lists items:

Tokidoki unicorn and I included a Rilakkuma Kitkat.

So there we have my most recent send outs. I am currently doing some more swaps but sadly I cannot share the photos: As my swap partners haven’t received their parcels yet, or I’m still gathering goodies. So stay tuned for another swap post soon. ^__^

Well I must be off!

Take care,

The Art Of Decoden!

Hey!

A few days ago I finally had a go at the extremely kawaii art of decoden. Decoden originates from Japan,  the term “deco” is intuitively short for decorated and “den” is short for “denwa” meaning “phone” in Japanese. But decoden doesn’t stop at phones, it’s taking over every type of electronic and flat surface beauty product you can think of!

You tend to find decoden amongst the Lolita girls & of course Harajuku; the supplies normally used tends to be, faux icing, baked clay goodies, flat back charms, anything that glitters and of course a million rhinestones etc…

So heres my first attempt of decoden on some glass jars:

The two smaller jars are known as decoden… I got the Hello Kitty & Rilakkuma clay goods from a recent swap, I made the ice cream scoops, heart & doughnut kitty from fuwa fuwa clay. (Known as paper clay as it dries over night on its own.) I also used some kawaii flat back charms (Caps.) I had on hand, beads, buttons & faux pearls. I used the fuwa fuwa clay to create the faux icing & pushed some through a piping gun tip to create the different texture and levels.

As for the larger jar (Which is not really decoden.) I wanted to explore what I could make on the spot with the fuwa fuwa clay…So I went with a lolita pastel theme and created a multi layered flower encrusted with a few flat back faux pearls.

Over all I would say I’m pretty happy with my first attempt at decoden and using fuwa fuwa clay of course. I still need to master the faux icing technique but I’ll get there in the end. Those decoden girls sure make it look easy haha!

I personally think it’s going to take me a lot of practice before I even dream of approaching any of my electronics but until that day I’ve got tons of tupperware and jars I can vandalise hah.

Take care,

L………..x
